How to use not-ready order tags and metadata exclusions

Two power tools in Order Processing: order tags that start orders as "Items Not Ready" (perfect for pre-orders), and metadata keys hidden from all item displays (perfect for noisy technical fields).

  1. 1

Go to Settings → Fulfillment and scroll to Order Processing.

  2. 2

Initially not-ready order tags (PRO): type a tag (e.g. pre-order) and click Add. Orders arriving from your store with that tag start in the Items Not Ready status instead of entering the fulfillment queue. Remove a tag by clicking the × on its chip.

  3. 3

When the items become available, release the orders with Set Order Items Ready (on the order page or as a bulk action).

  4. 4

Excluded metadata fields: type a metadata key (e.g. engraving) and click Add. That key is hidden across Pick and Pack, order details, and all other metadata displays.
