How to create shipping rules (auto-assign carriers)
Shipping rules map the shipping text a customer chose in your store to a specific OrderKrab carrier and method - so incoming orders get the right delivery method automatically. A second rule type adds a locker-search block to the Shopify Thank You page. Rules are per country and live in each country's panel on the Delivery map.
- 1
Go to Shipping → Delivery and click the destination country on the map, or find it with Find a country.
- 2
In the country's panel, scroll to Shipping rules - the badge shows how many rules the country has - and click Add rule.
- 3
Pick the Rule type: Auto-Assign Carrier Rule (match incoming shipping text to a carrier and method) or Thank You Page Rule (show a locker search on the Shopify Thank You page for a chosen method).
- 4
For an Auto-Assign rule: enter the Incoming shipping text exactly as your store sends it, then choose the Shipping provider and Shipping method it should map to.
- 5
Click Save. The rule appears in the panel as one line - WHEN the shipping text, THEN the carrier and service - with its type underneath.
Good to know
- The carrier list only offers carriers with a method switched on. If the window says None of your connected carriers delivers to this country, switch a method on in the same panel first.
- To delete a rule, click its trash icon and confirm with Delete rule - orders with that shipping text are no longer assigned automatically.
- The Checkout tab's Carrier service column shows which rule each of your store's rates matches, so you can spot rates no rule covers (Not mapped).
- Rules used to have their own Shipping Rules tab; they are now part of each country's panel, and the old address opens the Delivery map.
